Worst provider nominee: Dog fighting ring

A family child care home in Chicago was also the base for a dog-fighting ring. The provider's husband and two other people were arrested. The provider said the kids never got near the dogs, who were in a garage about 10 feet from the swing set.

There had been complaints about dogs at the place, but "officials made four visits to the home ... since 2006 and found that there was no evidence of the dogs in the day-care area."

She has surrendered her license.
